Bio
Miranda is inspired by the potential of the circular economy. She began her career as a ‘stagiaire’ at the EU Commission in DG External Relations, before joining the UK civil service fast stream – both times motivated to contribute to issues that shape society. During her six years at HM Treasury, Miranda worked on a wide range of domestic and international policies, working closely with ministers, policy stakeholders, G20 and international institution counterparts. In 2010, she moved to compliment her civil service experience with experience in other sectors. Her interest in design and the arts led her to a business strategy placement at Dyson and then to Sadler’s Wells where she ran a highly successful refurbishment campaign. She also contributed to the early plans for Sadler’s Wells’ part in Olympicopolis, a new arts centre on the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Along the way Miranda has volunteered as an expedition project manager for Raleigh International working with teams in remote parts of Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Borneo to develop social and environmental projects and deepen teams’ cross-cultural awareness. Exposure to the social enterprise sector through On Purpose has brought many new learning opportunities including around social investment and public sector spin outs. She is excited about the next chapter. Miranda holds an MSc in European Politics and Governance from the London School of Economics and a BA Hons in History from the University of Cambridge. Miranda is bilingual and spent her early childhood in Germany.

A little more about me…
What social enterprise means to me: A single bottom line is not enough.
My favourite training sessions: Inventing a behaviour changing game in Human Centred Design; pretending to hold a ‘big fish’ in Presentation Training; gleaning astute insights during Good Governance, M&A and Accounting.
Organisations that inspire me: There are so many. Elvis and Kresse to name one. And the arts of course – Sadler’s Wells. I also find the annual RCA Show really energising. So many inventive problem solutions e.g. Luffa Lab.
What I wanted to be when I grew up: Really, really? Captain Planet.
My favourite book / the book that changed me: ‘Cradle to Cradle’ was very inspiring. As to recent reads, parts of ‘Capital’ had me in stitches.
