Bio

Before joining On Purpose, Tom spent 6 years with Ernst & Young, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS). He joined on the corporate finance graduate scheme where he gained a broad grounding in finance, including corporate restructuring, financial due diligence and infrastructure advisory. During this time, he worked on projects such as the restructuring of Southern Cross and the £3bn Nortel Networks Administration.

After completing the graduate scheme, he joined EY’s Environmental Finance team, specialising in Renewable Energy, where he has worked for a wide range of public and private clients, including for example, a feasibility study for £50m Cambridge district heating project and the sale of 8MW Avonmouth onshore wind farm to Triodos Bank.

Tom has experience of having set up his own music business whilst at Warwick University. He has volunteered for a number of charities and social enterprises, including Unltd, Mind and Kids Company. He has travelled extensively, in particular Asia, including spending 4 months teaching English, science and sports to children in a rural school in Southern India (2003 and 2007).

He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Warwick.

Placement 1: FareShare

FareShare is national food charity, who redistributes food surplus, through 20 regional centres in the UK, to 2,000+ local charities and community organisations, feeding 160,000 people in need each week.

  • Feasibility study and business case for expanding FareShare operations into East Anglia

BeMORE help young professionals discover how to maximise the impact of their charitable giving, through a year in a BeMORE group and afterwards as part of the BeMORE community.
